From first profile to nikkah, step by step
A clear, respectful process with your family involved the way you want, and no open-ended chatting with no direction.
Five steps, at your own pace
Create your profile
Register in the app and verify your email and mobile number with a one-time code. Tell us about your faith practice, family background, education, lifestyle and what you are looking for. Photos are optional.
Your profile is reviewed
Before anyone else can see you, a member of our admin team reads through your profile. If you have chosen to involve a wali or guardian, they may be asked to confirm it as well.
Discover and express interest
Browse suitable profiles and show interest in people you would genuinely consider marrying. Photos and contact details stay hidden until the interest is mutual.
Get to know each other, with purpose
Once matched, you can message within the app, with your family involved as much as you choose. After a few weeks Florence asks both of you, privately, whether you want to move towards marriage.
Move towards nikkah
If you both say yes, your profiles are archived, the Nikah Cost Calculator helps you plan mahr, walima and your wedding budget together, and you can leave a review of your experience.
Who is involved, and what they can see
Marriage is a family matter in Islam. Florence gives you control over who takes part.
Family involvement: you decide
For each profile you choose how involved your family should be: required at every step, preferred, or simply informed. Florence adapts to how your family approaches marriage.
The Wali (guardian)
If you add a wali, such as a father, mother, brother or another guardian, they receive their own invitation and a simple wali account. Depending on your settings they can review your profile before it is approved and have read-only visibility of your matches and conversations. A father or mother who fills in the registration themselves is treated as the wali directly, with no separate invite.
The Mentor (for new Muslims)
New Muslims and reverts without a Muslim family member to act as wali can ask for a Mentor: a trusted person assigned by the Florence admin team who has the same oversight of matches and conversations that a wali would. You are never going through this alone.
The Florence team
Our admins review profiles, handle reports, and can step in to help with changes to an approved profile through the in-app Help Center.
