How we keep Florence trustworthy
Here is exactly what we do, and what we don’t. We review every profile by hand, but no screening is perfect, so we combine checks with family involvement and easy reporting.
Our verification steps
Email and mobile confirmed
Every member confirms their email address and mobile number with a one-time code when they register, so each account is tied to a real, reachable person.
Human profile review
A member of our admin team reads every profile before it can be seen by anyone else. Profiles that look incomplete, inconsistent or suspicious are sent back, held, or rejected.
Guardian confirmation
Where a member has chosen to involve a wali, the wali can be required to confirm the profile before it is approved. New Muslims without a wali are paired with an admin-assigned Mentor.
Profiles stay accurate
Once approved, a profile becomes view-only. Any change goes through the in-app Help Center to an admin, so details cannot be quietly swapped after review.
Ongoing protections
Photos hidden until mutual
Photos are optional and are only revealed once both sides have agreed. Your wali contact details are never shown to other members.
Report any profile or chat
Members can report a profile or behaviour from inside the app. Reports go straight to our admin team to review.
Family visibility
Guardians and Mentors can have read-only visibility of matches and conversations, so you never have to navigate it alone.
Action on misconduct
Our team can suspend or remove accounts that break our conduct rules, including harassment, pressure, false information and requests for money.
Account protection
Login attempts are rate-limited, sessions are protected, and the app supports a biometric app-lock on your own device.
No ads, no data selling
Florence has no advertising and does not sell personal information. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
Our advice to every member
- Involve your family or wali early, and keep them informed.
- Meet only in public places, and bring a family member or chaperone.
- Never send money, and be wary of anyone who asks for it.
- Keep conversation in the app until you are comfortable.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, report it.
